'''''Pokémon Ruby''''' and ''''' Pokémon Sapphire''''' are part of the third-generation of ''Pokémon'' games (also known as the gem generation from its naming - ''Ruby'', ''Sapphire'', and ''Emerald''). It was also the first set of Pokémon games to be released on the Game Boy Advance, as ''[[Pokémon Gold and Silver]]'' were both on the [[Game Boy Color]]. This led to large graphical upgrades from the previous games, as well as a new storyline. Of course, as in every new generation of ''Pokémon'' games, there were also brand new Pokémon species, 136 more to be exact.
