Pawmi is an Electric-type Pokémon in the franchise of the same name. It evolves into Pawmo starting at level 18, which evolves into Pawmot when leveled up while outside of its Poké Ball after walking 1000 steps using the Let's Go feature.
Physiology and Behavior[]
Pawmi is a small, quadrupedal, rodent-like Pokémon that has a body that is almost entirely orange, with cream colorations on its lower forelimbs, snout, and tail, and green on the insides of its ears. It has beady brown eyes and a tiny nose. Its forelimbs are considerably large, and it has a tuft of fur on top of its head.
Pawmi has yellow underdeveloped electric sacs in its cheeks, as well as yellow pad-like organs on its forepaws that can discharge electricity. If it feels threatened, it will rub its cheeks to generate electricity, which it then delivers to its opponents by touching them with its forepaws. The organs on its forepaws turn teal-blue when discharging. Pawmi's thick fur provides insulation against the cold and allows it to store electricity.

Origin & Inspiration[]
Pawmi appears to be based on rodents, specifically the alpine marmot, which was reintroduced in 1948 to the Pyrenees mountain range at the border of Spain and France, after its disappearance in the region following the end of the Pleistocene epoch. Pawmi may also be based on the chinchilla or the closely related viscacha — much like Pawmi, the latter has long ears and a rotund build with a reddish-brown coat. Pawmi's ability of discharging electricity from its paws may be inspired by defibrillators.
Pawmi may be a combination of paw, palm, and mini or 鼠 nezumi (Japanese for mouse).

Trivia[]
- Pawmi and its evolution Pawmo share their category with Rattata, Raticate, Pikachu, Raichu, Sandshrew, and Sandslash. They are all known as the Mouse Pokémon, though Rattata and Raticate were originally called the Rat Pokémon prior to the third generation.
- Pawmi and Pawmo are the only Pokémon with this category to not be introduced in first generation, and the only ones whose evolutionary line has no Alolan Forms.
- Pawmi and Pawmo are the first Electric rodents since Pichu to be able to evolve.
- Pawmi has the lowest base Special Defense stat of all Electric-type Pokémon.
- Pawmi is tied with Cleffa and Greavard for having the shortest Japanese name of all Pokémon, being spelt with only two kana.
