Pavise, also referred to as Cancel, is a skill introduced in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It has since appeared in 9 games in the series.

Effects[]

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War[]

When activated, the user takes no damage from enemies' strikes. The probabilities for its activation depend on the user's level converted in percentage. It is learned by Generals, Barons, and Emperors.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776[]

When activated, the user takes no damage from enemies' strikes. The probabilities for its activation depend on the user's level converted in percentage. It is learned by Barons and is the base skill of Xavier.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones[]

When activated, the user negates all damages from enemies. The probabilities for its activation depend on the enemy's level converted in percentage. It is learned by Generals.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance[]

When activated, the user negates all damages from enemies. The probabilities for its activation depend on the skill stat of the user converted in percentage. It is the Occult skill of the Hawks Laguz.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn[]

When activated, the user negates all damages from enemies. The probabilities for its activation depend on the skill stat of the user converted in percentage. It is the base skill of Tibarn.

Fire Emblem Awakening[]

When activated, the damage inflicted by Swords, Lances, Axes, Monster weapons, and Beaststones is halved. The probabilities for its activation depend on the skill stat of the user converted in percentage. It is learned by Generals when they reach level 15.

Fire Emblem Fates[]

When activated, the damage inflicted by Swords, Lances, Axes, Monster weapons, Beaststones and Puppet is halved. The probabilities for its activation depend on the skill stat of the user converted in percentage. It is learned by Generals when they reach level 15.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia[]

The skill lower the HP of the user by -3 and allow the damages inflicted by physical attacks to be reduced by half. It is the skill of Duma's Shield and the Sage's Shield.

Fire Emblem Heroes[]

The skill is a Special that reduces damage inflicted by attacks from adjacent foes by 50% with a cooldown of 3. The skill costs 200 SP, requires Buckler to be learned first and is exclusive to Melee units. It is known by the following units:

Pavise+[]

This is an enemy exclusive variation on the ability, found in Fire Emblem Awakening's Lunatic+ Difficulty. Unlike the regular version, Pavise+ is always active so damage inflicted by Swords, Lances, Axes, Monster weapons, and Beaststones is always halved.

Trivia[]

A pavise is a type of large shield designed to protect the entire body, used primarily by archers and crossbowmen during the Middle Ages.
