The Parasite Queen is the first boss in Metroid Prime. She makes a cameo appearance in an arena in the Wii game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Samus Aran encounters the Parasite Queen in the Reactor Core room deep within the Frigate Orpheon. Her only means of attack is firing a powerful green energy beam from her mouth; the beam is so powerful that the force field surrounding her offers no protection. The Queen's weak point is her mouth. Getting a clear shot can be tricky because of the force field spinning, requiring Samus to wait for an opening in the field before firing.
As the Parasite Queen takes more and more damage, her grip starts to weaken. Once she is defeated, she falls into the core and explodes, causing it to go critical, ultimately resulting in the frigate crashing on Tallon IV.
