Pandora's Tower is a Wii video game developed by Ganbarion, known for games such as the Jump Super Stars series. The game is an Action RPG, featuring intense battles with all kind of horrifying beasts as the player progresses trough a number of towers. The game was released in Japan on May 15 2011, and a European release has been announced for 2012.

Plot

Pandora's Tower begins at the harvest festival of the Elysium kingdom. The young woman Ceres has been chosen to sing at the festival, but just as she is about to begin, a beast attacks. With the help of Ende she takes into hiding, but they soon learn that Ceres was cursed be the beast. The curse will slowly kill her and only the flesh of various beasts can keep her alive. Ende thus sets out to challenge the towers' monsters, hoping to save Ceres' life.

Gameplay

At the time, not much is known about the gameplay. The player will control Ende as he ventures through twelve towers. With him he has the Orichalcum Chain, which not only functions as a weapon, but also lets him know how long Ceres has left to live. By killing beasts a timer can be refilled, but it continually decreases. To save her life once and for all, the flesh of each of the towers' bosses must be gathered. Each tower also has unique themes, such as fire in the red tower.

Development

In January 2011, Satoru Iwata first revealed that Pandora's Tower was in development. On April 5, 2011 a teaser trailer of the game was first shown online and a day later, details of the game's story and characters were published in Famitsu magazine along with the confirmation of Ganbarion as the developer and a Japanese release date of May 26, 2011. The official website was also updated to include the new trailer and the confirmed release.
