The Ever-Changing World
Please note that this story contains spoilers for the Faith Forsaken (Part Two) event.
Origa: The Progenitor may arise while I am yet serving as Satan's yoke.
Origa: I leave that fight to you, and with it, this world of beautiful possibility.
Gala Prince: We'll stop him. I promise.
Origa: Thank you. And...I am sorry.
My soul was sealed in another world along with Satan.
I may never be able to return to my own world again. But nonetheless...
???: ...riga... Origa...
Origa: Regina…?
Regina: Wake up, Origa.
Regina: Well, look who's finally awake. Bit incautious of you to be dozing off while sitting on the throne, eh?
Origa: Regina...? Wait, I'm in the Papal chamber? But why?
Regina: Uh, because you're the pope and the Auspex? Where else would you be?
Origa: No, that's impossible. I was sealed away along with Satan!
Regina: Uh...Satan? I think maybe you should go wash the sleep from your eyes.
Origa: What?
Regina: We're holding talks with Alberia regarding our alliance shortly; as the representative of Grams, we need you on your game.
Origa: (She doesn't even know about Satan? And what's this about an alliance?)
Origa: (What in the world is happening?!)
Zena: Well met, Origa. It has been some time. I am delighted that we should come face- to-face for a meeting once more.
Origa: Oh, er...yes. Likewise.
Gala Prince: You have our great thanks for sending reinforcements during the decisive battle with the Empire. Because of that, we were able to secure peace in the south.
Origa: ......
According to Euden and the others, Grams and Alberia formed an alliance a long time ago. As such, the royal house of the south and the Northern Church have enjoyed many years of fine friendship.
There was considerable desire amongst the people that New Alberia and the Empire should be merged in the postwar period, so the prince and his allies saw it done, meaning he now governs the unified Kingdom of Alberia.
The former Empress, sister of the prince, vanished into North Grastaea along with the group calling itself Agito. Tied up with governance, the prince found himself unable to follow them himself, and so enlisted the apostles to track them down.
To avoid fomenting animosity on the part of former imperial subjects, the government's public face is a joint body of the prince and the former Empress. But now, the role of the prince's vanished sister is filled by Zena, the woman from another world.
Origa: (History in this world seems to have taken a far different course from my memories.)
Origa: (Other worlds are paths born from multitudinous possibilities... Perhaps the seal has caused me to stray into one of them.)
Origa: (A world derived from the possibility of there not having been conflict between Grams and Alberia.)
Zena: Origa, is something on your mind? You look dazed.
Origa: Huh? Oh, er...
Regina: She's been like this since this morning. Soooomebody didn't get enough sleep!
Zena: Oh dear. Well, if something is troubling you, feel free to confer with me again. We are fellow Auspexes, after all.
Origa: I...I will. Thank you.
I see. In this world, I apparently consulted with people regarding the Progenitor.
Thus, I did not worry over the matter alone. We swore to deal with the Progenitor together,
and I did not desire Satan's return.
Basileus: The Templars escorted the prince and his fellows to their vessel, and they have departed for the capital safely.
Origa: Thank you for the report.
Pinon: Basileus? It's time. We must get to the inspection as soon as possible.
Michael: Little Pinon has been fidgeting about this all day, Basileus. To think she is finally able to work with the senior apostle she holds in such high regard!
Pinon: You're the very model of an apostle, so I wish to learn as much as I can from you and become a full-fledged apostle in my own right as soon as possible!
Basileus: That's the spirit—and in that case, I'll be sure to drill all my skills into you on-site. I hope you are ready for that.
Origa: It's good to see you like this, Basileus. You look so...alive.
Basileus: If so, I have you to thank for it.
Origa: You do?
Basileus: I became an apostle in order to gain revenge for the razing of my hometown, and you helped me achieve it.
Basileus: Together, you and I discovered that Graht had a hand in countless misdeeds, and we succeeded in having him locked away.
Basileus: With my revenge complete, I was lost— but then you came to me and said my strength was needed to clear a path toward the future.
Basileus: Those words helped me find a reason to keep living, and I now dedicate myself to training the next generation of apostles.
Origa: (In my original world, I got Basileus caught up in the plan to resurrect Satan.)
Origa: (Without that having happened here, he did not betray the apostles. Instead, he lives now for the future alongside his friends and comrades.)
Origa: Fie, but it is a relief...
Regina: Honestly, you are terrible, Basileus! Capturing the heart of my dear little Origa.
Regina: Still, I'm not above abusing my authority. If he makes you cry even once, I'm going to double his KP duty.
Origa: N-now hold on! That's not...
Regina: Ha! I kid, I kid—well, except for the part where I care about you. That's legit.
Regina: When we reunited in the Curia, we kept a fair amount of distance from one another. But the prince realized we were sisters, and helped us smooth things over.
Regina: So now we talk with each other just like we used to, and I cannot TELL you how happy it makes me!
Origa: It makes me happy too, Regina.
Origa: (In this world, I have friends I can consult with about the Progenitor.)
Origa: (I managed to rebuild my relationship with Regina, and Basileus is able to live for the future. Everything appears to be ideal.)
Origa: (And yet...)
Origa: And yet my crimes remain unchanged, no matter which world they occurred in.
Templar Captain: There's the corrupt Auspex!
Origa: What's this?! Who are you?!
Templar Captain: We are the true adherents of the Goddess's teachings come to lay down judgment for your wrongdoings!
Origa: And what wrongdoings are those?
Templar Captain: Church leadership has chosen to strip you of your status as pope and Auspex and have you put to the sword. Take her!
Origa: What? Stop! Unhand me!
Archbishop: This scandal shall be dealt with promptly and confidentially; we shall claim Origa was killed in an accident. Now, Captain! Put the blade of judgment to this heathen!
Origa: No, stop! Please listen to me!
Templar Captain: There's no point in trying to talk your way out of this. Though if you have any good still left in your wretched soul, you should repent your sins in these final moments.
Origa: NOOOOOOOO!
Regina: ...riga... Origa... Wake up, Origa.
Regina: Well, look who's finally awake. Bit incautious of you to be dozing off while sitting on the throne, eh?
Origa: Regina...? Wait, I'm in the Papal chamber? But why?
Regina: Uh, because you're the pope and the Auspex? Where else would you be?
Origa: But that's impossible! I was executed by the Templars!
Regina: Bad dream, maybe? Because from here, you look to be very much alive.
Origa: What...?
Regina: You look terrible. Maybe you should go wash the sleep from your eyes.
Regina: We're holding talks with Alberia regarding our alliance shortly; as the representative of Grams, we need you on your game.
Origa: (What in the world is happening?!)

Origa: Oh, er...yes. Likewise.
Gala Prince: You have our great thanks for sending reinforcements during the decisive battle with the Empire. Because of that, we were able to secure peace in the south.
Origa: (Everything I saw before now was a nightmare? But this conversation...)
Thank you.
Origa: (I had the same conversations with Regina and Basilius, too. This is a re-creation of what happened in my dream!)
Basileus: Those words helped me find a reason to keep living, and I now dedicate myself to training the next generation of apostles.
Regina: So now we talk with each other just like we used to, and I cannot TELL you how happy it makes me!
Origa: (Perhaps it was no dream, but a premonition? If so, what comes next...)
Templar Captain: There's the corrupt Auspex!
Archbishop: This scandal shall be dealt with promptly and confidentially; we shall claim Origa was killed in an accident. Now, Captain! Put the blade of judgment to this heathen!
Origa: (This is the same as my dream! I'm going to be executed!)
Origa: Regina... I... I...
Regina: You look terrible. Maybe you should go wash the sleep from your eyes.
Origa: (Were both of those executions dreams? If not, then...)
This world is one in which I will relive my own death over and over without end.
A thought flashed through the back of my mind— of a "singular, perfect world" in which I can do nothing to change my predetermined death— and a chill went up my spine...
