Olympic Hockey 98, known as Olympic Hockey Nagano '98 in Japan, is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the Nintendo 64. It is licensed by the Olympics and the National Hockey League Player's Association.

Plot[]

The game is based on the men's ice hockey tournament during the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Japan.

Gameplay[]

The game uses the same engine as Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey and is almost identical to it, with the exception of teams and rosters. It's a single- and multi-player game that focuses specifically on the Winter Olympics in Japan in 1998.

The sport of ice hockey was excluded from the actual Olympics game Nagano Winter Olympics '98. This game makes up for that.

As in the real-world sport of ice hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.

Teams[]

The teams within the game are the different countries represented in that Winter Olympic year.

Box Art[]

The box art for the game depicts a goaltender from the Russia team making a save. On the back of the North American box art, the main caption reads, "Your country needs you!"
