Octoroks are a recurring enemy in The Legend of Zelda series. They have appeared in every Zelda game since the first Legend of Zelda, with the exception of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. These octopus monsters are known for their ability to produce rocks within their body which they fire from their snout via compressed air. These rocks hit with the force of a musket shot but can be blocked or deflected with Link's shield.

Octorok is a collectable Spirit In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Strategy and habits

Much like Deku Shrubs, Octorocks will shoot projectiles at Link. In the 2D games, Octorocks lived on land and need only be hit by a sword to meet their end. In 3D games however, they are shown to be the Deku shrubs of the sea, shooting projectiles and disappearing if link gets to close.

Notable Octoroks

  • Big Octo, is a reoccurring miniboss of the 3D games.

Trivia

  • A Octorok is in a glass capsule in the Lakebed Lab.
  • Octoroks have received the "number one Zelda enemy" award from Nintendo Power as a result of their near perfect attendance in the series.
