Oblivious(JP) is a Pokémon ability introduced in the third generation.

Description[]

The ability prevents the infatuation status as well as getting affected by gender-based moves like Captivate. If the ability holder were to be infatuated (like with Mold Breaker), the ability will cure it while it is in battle. If the ability holder is holding a Mental Herb, the item will be consumed before the ability activates. If the Pokémon is holding a Destiny Knot, the Destiny Knot activates before curing the Pokémon of infatuation.

In the sixth generation, the ability now protects against Taunt. If the ability holder were to be taunted, the ability will cure it while it is in battle. In the eighth generation, it also blocks Intimidate.

In other games[]

Oblivious appears as Slowbro and Bounsweet/Steenee's ability in Pokémon Unite. For Slowbro, it stores extra HP. When it gets hit, it will start restoring its HP from the stores and decrease the opposing Pokémon's Special Defense by 4% (that can stack up to 20%).

For Bounsweet, it reduces the time hindrances last. It will change into Queenly Majesty when it evolves into Tsareena.
