Norfair is an area in the Metroid series of video games. It's found on planet Zebes, and is basically a fiery inferno. It was destroyed when Zebes was in the SNES video game Super Metroid.
Super Smash Bros. series
Norfair appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. There are five platforms, four of which are pass through ones (though they're all the same size). After fighting for a bit, lava will rise and a safe hatch will appear on one of the five platforms. Whomever gets inside the safe hatch will ultimately be safe from danger, though everyone else will more than likely be badly burned by the lava.
