The Legend of Zelda Timeline is the name given to the official chronology of The Legend of Zelda series. First revealed to the public in Hyrule Historia a book released in 2011 for the 25th anniversary of the series, the chronology was created over the years by Eiji Aonuma, the director of the Zelda series, and a lot of it was in fact revealed before Hyrule Historia, but the book itself serves as a mean to clarify the place of each game in the chronology. The timeline has since been updated with every game that released post Hyrule Historia.

"A human sacrificed himself to save the Pokémon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences did I see the true power they all share deep inside. I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."
—Mewtwo in Pokémon the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back
"No one likes a traffic jam. But traffic jelly? Slap some peanut butter on it and it's aaaall good."
—Pascal in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
