The Legend of Zelda Timeline is the name given to the official chronology of The Legend of Zelda series. First revealed to the public in Hyrule Historia a book released in 2011 for the 25th anniversary of the series, the chronology was created over the years by Eiji Aonuma, the director of the Zelda series, and a lot of it was in fact revealed before Hyrule Historia, but the book itself serves as a mean to clarify the place of each game in the chronology. The timeline has since been updated with every game that released post Hyrule Historia.

"The name's Fox. Fox McCloud. My father passed away five years ago. To carry on his legacy, I brought his team out of retirement: Star Fox. The elite squadron he founded and died to protect. I've recruited the best teammates a squad leader could ask for, like a brilliant young inventor and close friend from my academy days, Slippy Toad. And Falco Lombardi, a hotshot flyboy who's kind of a handful, but also one of the best pilots I've ever met. Yep, like I said, the best teammates a squad leader could ask for."
—Fox McCloud in Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins
"Ma'am, you're mistaken, I'm not a pet, I'm a Knight and master swordsman."
—Frog in Chrono Trigger
