The Nintendo VS. System(JP) is an arcade system that was developed and manufactured by Nintendo. The system's hardware is based on the Nintendo Entertainment System, and it contains most of its processors and chips. All of the VS. System's games are ports of NES games, and some were altered to accommodate for the hardware. The VS. System had a heavy emphasis on two-player play. Two different configurations of VS. system cabinets were made - upright "VS. UniSystem" cabinets and sit-down "VS. DualSystem" cabinets. The games for the VS. System had chips that could be plugged into the board, and it allowed for one side of the cabinet to have a different game than the other.
