Nintendo Direct is a special stream by Nintendo dedicated to news about the latest and upcoming games for Nintendo systems.

History

The presentations began in Japan and North America with the first edition on October 21, 2011, before later expanding to Europe, Australia, and South Korea.

Trivia

  • So far, the only delayed Nintendo Direct has been on September 6, 2018 due to a large Earthquake in Hokkaido in respect to the loss of life. It was rescheduled to September 13.
  • Excluding Mini Directs and Partner Showcases, the longest gap between two Nintendo Directs was for 531 days, between a direct on September 4, 2019, and February 17, 2021.
