Nintendo Developing 45 Wii & 79 DS Games - Sooo many games. Bloomberg recently reported that those many Games are currently in development. Reeeeaally. Is one of them Kid Icarus? Maybe Mother? If not so, just say it already: Half of those are probably for VC or contain a certain portly plumber. - Wiiporter
Also, I'm sure most of them are only going to be released in Japan, won't be released until 2008 or 2009, and will probably be canned before they even get announced... -Bentendo
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl - After many years without a new Pokémon game, Nintendo finaly released Diamond and Pearl in the U.S. where it sold one million copies in five days. - Bentendo
Madden NFL '08 will feature online play, and will include an online lobby and a leaderboard. Will also feature Miis.
Kingdom Hearts spinoff announced for either Nintendo DS, PSP, or moble phones. The game is confirmed to explain how Mickey obtained a key blade. With that said, you'll probably play as Mickey Mouse for the whole game. They also stated that you'll learn more about Roxas, who is Sora's alternate form. - Bentendo
E3 has a floorplan - Yes, 2006 was not E3's last year. However, it was it's last year where the major booths weren't the size of a small Cubicle. This is a common plan:
Sad. - Wiiporter
Donkey Kong Bongo Blast renamed DK Jet. I like the other name, but I'll deal with it. - Bentendo
Those monsters! Capcom is going dooooooowwn. -Wiiporter
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption to be released on August 20, 2007, Battalion Wars 2 in September, Brain Age 2 on August 20, DK Jungle Climber (new name for DK: King of Swing DS) on September 10, and Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol on September 24. - Bentendo
Geometry Wars heading to Wii and Nintendo DS according to Nintendo Power. It will be developed by the peeps who made Battalion Wars, and will probably use the functions of the aforementioned systems.
Staff:
Bentendo - Creator, writer, plumber, Pokémon trainer, bounty hunter, the hero of time, arwing pilot, smash brother, and warpstar knight.
Wiiporter - Sigh... A demotion is all E3 needs. Now that my favorite major company gets a box the size of a shoebox, I have nothing to look forward to. What? A new Mario game? Hows that worth tapping my schools internet?
In other news, I recently realized that school was almost over. In fact, by the time you read this, I'll be up in Anapolis, icolated from this establishment, visiting my bro. So, in short, the next issue will contain at least 10% less me. But, before you throw a celebration, I'll still perform my duties as cartoonist. Awww... Don't cry, it won't be that bad.
A pleasant surprise awaited me on the cover of Nintendo Power last month, featuring the newly announced NiGHTS title. Amazing, really, how little information was out and they still managed at least five pages. Maybe we'll go there. Eventually.
Oh, and as some of you may recognize, this comic has been put on other networks beforehand. To ensure originality, that will never happen again. At least, until the issue is released...
Expectations
This here is a special feature that will reveal what all of Nintendopedia's editors expect to be announced in 2007. Whether it be at E3 or the new E for Everyone event, anything is possible.
Bentendo
Pokémon Pinball: Diamond and Pearl: Seeing the success of the previous Pokémon Pinball games, I'm almost sure that they'll reveal this soon. The Nintendo DS is a perfect console for pinball games seeing as it has two screens, allowing for a bigger board.
Yoshi's Island 3: This is more of a hope than an expect. The Wii would be perfect for a Yoshi's Island game - seeing that you can aim your eggs.
Wiiporter
Kid Icarus Wii: He's on Smash Brothers, Virtual Console, and the radar. If he ain't coming, Then Nintendo is been a dirty, lying tease this whole time.
Halo Clone: I don't care if it's plaigerism: We Want It. You said you could make it, Mayamoto, so Do It. End of story.
Bombtom
Animal Crossing Wii: I've waited a good long year and their has been no news. If it ain't on E3 it ain't going to happen. It would be shocking to see no Wii version, since Animal Crossing is so popular.
Pikmin 3: It works perfectly with the Wii system. Using the remote to aim and use throwing actions. They can't ruin the series.
Starfox Wii: You alwats need an action sci-fi flying game, for a console. Thats why Starfow was made. With out him. Wii's couldn't be as fun.
F-Zero Wii: It's very simple just do it!
Mario Monthly
By Bentendo & Wiiporter Looks like we've got a wait ahead. Smash Bros. in fall. Galaxy in fall. Even Strikers is in fall! are you all willing to wait that long? Well, I guess you've got something to tide you over: Super Paper Mario certainly isn't terrible... But Galaxy would be nice right about now. They did say that Smash Bros. was so good, they could release it early. So why don't they do it? Ah, well, I guess they want to give us time to brace our pitiful, little wallets. - Wiiporter
Bowser has generally been regarded as one of the worst racers in the series, though experts of the games who can efficiantly use him could have a major advantage over their opponents. His power alone will allow the user to knock the others off stages such as Rainbow Road easily, and is very fun to do so online.
Finally a few new images of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption were released, and they don't dissapoint. The most notable of these images is the first one, which showcases a brand new bounty hunter, whom obviously looks huge! - Bentendo
Last month the two new Pokémon video games, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, were released after years of fans waiting to adventure through the new region Sinnoh. Little by little fans learned more about all of the new Pokémon and features that were going to be included, and when ever a new English name was announced the forums went wild. In mid 2004 the first Pokémon of the fourth generation was revealed, that one being Munchlax. Gradually more and more Pokémon were revealed, and great news such as the night and day returning and the cool Poké tech made fans go crazy with joy. Now after all thistime they were finally released, and I've got my self a copy (Diamond version).
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl review
Ever since the original Red and Blue were released over 10 years ago, the formula and style of the Pokémon games have remained the same. Almsot nothing about the actual gameplay has changed, though the development team has added in some nifty additions, the most notable being the Wifi feature, which I saddly wasn't able to try. Other features include the day and night feature that was introduced in Gold and Silver, though was oddly taken out with the release of the GBA games. The Pokétech is sort of neat, though probably half of the gadgets included are beyond pointless (A coin flipping app? Come on!). In all there are 107 new Pokémon to be found, and you can catch the 350 plus others without even having to trade! Though the only way to get many of the other Pokémon is to actually beat the game AND at least see all 150 Sinnoh region Pokémon.
As in the previous entries, you'll have to choose from a pack of three starter Pokémon. One of them is fire, another grass, and another water. I chose Turtwig, and I don't regret it after 50 plus hours of playing so far. Once you start your adventure, you'll come across wild Pokémon that you have to battle with one of the six Pokémon in your group. If it please ya, you can also catch the wild Pokémon by decreasing their health (not all the way) and tossing a Pokéball at it. Sometimes it will fail, and the higher the Pokémon's level is the harder it is to catch it.
One of the more appealing aspects of the game is the fact that you can evolve most of the Pokémon included. Once they finally evolve, their stats will usually increase by many, and the evolving Pokémon will sometimes also get a new type. For example, Grotle is a grass type Pokémon, though when he will evolve into Torttera it will have two types: Grass and ground.
As aforementioned, the Pokétech feature isn't as great as it could be. A majority of them you'll probably never use, and not many are particularly useful. Everyonce and a while though you'll come across one that will be helpful, such as the item finder and the map that desplays where you are, and later on in the game where one of the three legendary psychic Pokémon is hiding.
While traversing through the multiple different enviroments that are within Sinnoh, you'll come across hundreds of different Pokémon trainers who will battle you if you go into his/her eye contact. Naturally the Pokémon that are in the trainer's list go with the enviroment, so if you're in the water, the trainers will usually have water type Pokémon.
Overall, the game is pretty decent, and It'll take probably 40 hours to complete the main game, and could probably take up to 150 hours to catch every Pokémon and complete every sidequest. I really enjoy the game, and will be playing for a few months from now just so I can catch every Pokémon.
Score: 9/10
Sinnoh's Underground
The underground in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl is a great new feature, and according to some of the designers (of Diamond and Pearl) is the greatest new feature. It almost doubles the size of the actual region, and while it may not look like much once you go down there, there are plenty of secrets to be found. Whether it be Pokémon fossils or underground vendors, it's quite a place.
Obviously the best part of the underground is the fact that you can dig for treasures in the walls via the DS' stylus. In all, there are four different layers, each one either being harder to smash through or easier. Once you chisel through the final layer of rock, you may be able to find treasures. The most common of these treasures are nothing but mere sheres or stones that you can sell for stuffed animals (or Pokémon) or furniture for your "secret base" in the underground. However, rare items include fossils that you can take to the musuem, who will then revive the dead Pokémon and give it back to you. Each version has a different fossilised Pokémon, so be sure to trade with your friends!
Nintendopedia first:
I'm happy to announce that Nintendopedia's first walkthrough is currently being created. It is based off of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and can be found here. Feel free to edit it yourself! - Bentendo
Also take note that Nintendo and TOSE have confirmed there is a total of 36 Pokémon that will be included. Some of my gueses are Jigglypuff, all of the fourth generation starter Pokémon and their evolved forms, and possibly Pichu. What are some of your gueses? If you have any say so in the discussion page, and we'll list some of them here next month.
Upcoming Pokémon episodes:
Dawn of a New Era!-Summer 07
Gettin' Twiggy With it!-Summer 07
Pokétech App of the Month:
The Marking Map!
Why'd I choose it?:
In past Pokémon games, it was always a hastle to always go and check the map, but now all you have to do is check the bottom screen, which shows the world map. You can also add icons to the map to help you know which direction to go.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Darkness and Time Exploration Team:
Well, as you probably know, a sequel to the GBA and Nintendo DS hit was announced, and the starters for the game have been too. All of the starters from previous main games will be a starter in this game (including Pikachu). Also, Meowth, Munchlax, and possibly Riolu will be there as well.
I played the original Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for tons and tons of hours when it was first released. The battles may have been long, though they never got old. The law system may have been tedious, though that was really the only "bad" thing about the game. I really didn't expect them to make a sequel, though when SquareEnix announced The Sealed Grimoire, I was filled with joy. Apparently there are more jobs than the previous game, and the enemies will also be larger then previous games, taking up many spaces on the grid map, while in the previous game no enemy would be larger than one grid. Once again, there are plenty of lovable characters, including a new Moogle (who happens to be Montblanc's sibling). And as in every Final Fantasy game, there is a Cid in the game. - Bentendo
Quick reviews of some RPG's:
Pokémon Red and Blue - One of the very first in the series that started the whole franchise, Pokémon is a legendary classic, taking on the role to capture all 151 Pokémon, (when Red and Blue was released) and defeat all 8 Gym leaders to go on to face the Elite Four. Despite its black and white blocky graphics, Red and Blue offered great loads of gameplay. I remeber playing Pokémon Red until 3 in the morning, later I remebered I had to take my Sats the follwing day...Its that Addictive!-9/10. -Nint3ndo
In 1959 Satoru Iwata was born, his destiny to become one of the lead Nintendo Produces.
As a teen, Satoru started making computer games at home. The games were very simple number games using electronic calculators; he then showed the finished product to his school mates.
When Satoru’s High school years were over, Satoru enrolled in Tokyo Institute of Technology. Satoru began to work as a part-time games programmer for HAL Laboratory, Inc., while continuing to pursue his tertiary studies. Final in 1982 Satoru join Hal and worked full time there. It was Satoru’s time to shine, the first major games he helped develope were Balloon Fight and NESS Open Golf. Soon Satoru raised up the ranks, to become one of the most popular HAL Developers. And then he started one of the most famous Nintendo Games ever, Kirby’s Dreamland, with the help of Masahiro Sakurai. The Kirby series has been one of the most popular Nintendo games ever. But that didn’t stop him making another famous game Earthbound, with the character Ness.
When the Gamecube era started Satoru began to work extra hard. He helped produce some of the most popular Gamecube games ever (Including: The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Eternal Darkness: Sanities Requiem, Super Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing and of course all the Kirby games.) At the same point of time Satoru Iwata changed form HAL and joined NCL.
When the Nintendo DS was released Satoru, wanted to make a different type of game, an educational game. So he teamed up with Dr. Kawashima's, to work on a new project called Brain Training. Brain Training became very popular, and became another game of beauty made by Satoru. With all these magnificent games produced Satoru became the president of NCL.
The most spectacular thing Satoru Iwata has made is the Nintendo Wii. Satoru was the leader of the project and with out him Nintendo would be still the least popular Video Game Company (there was trouble trying to sell Gamecubes.) After the success of the Wii, Nintendo were making a lot of money. Today Satoru is the fourth president of Nintendo.

This article is for our writers to bounce off opinions
of a videogame-esque theme. Questions will be asked, answers to respond, tissue to be applied to nose.
Will Wii Music see the light of day?
Wiiporter - No. No news since the last E3, no new screenshots, no. It's sad, I know, but it's just not happening.
Bentendo - Nintendo just announced this month that it is still in development, so I'd bet my money (even though our religion strictly prohibits gambling) that it's coming out.
Wiiporter - If it is, it better arrive before Guitar Hero III. If it doesn't, It ain't making my money.
Bombtom - I think it will be released, wait till E3 2007 and you might get some more information about it.
E3 is going to be a public event this year. Any worries?
Wiiporter - Err... besides the fact that the Nintendo booth (along with every other one) will be 10 times smaller, not at all, Paul.
Bentendo - Are you sure it's public? But if you asked how I felt about the change from a big and exciting E3 to a small one, all it does is give me an unhealthy and unstoppable malicious behavior toward the "genius" that decided to can the coolio atmosphere.
Wiiporter - Well, I heard about it in an old [1up.com] article, but it might've changed... Ah well, whatcha gonna do?
Bentendo - If it were public, I think it might be just a tad to tight in that "cubicle" of a space.
If you could go to E3 this year, what would you ask the Big N?
Bojangles - As a matter of fact I am going to E3 this year and I will bring the magazine all the lemony goodness that is E3. you guys got questions I should ask Nintendo reps?
Wiiporter - Reallly. Well then, if you don't mind, ask them when we will see that kid Icarus sequal. it's been around, oh, 20 years, you'd think by now they'd get to it...
Bentendo - I have a hunch that you won't need to ask them about Kid Icarus, seeing that they may already announce it before the questions start rolling! Though if they don't reveal the game, then they obviously wouldn't be able to answer your question!
Bojangles - I don't know though...I'm going to bring a tape measure and measure the Nintendo booth compare it to the others. Oh, and I'll bring back lots of the cool stuff they give away.
Bombtom - I do have one question, that I'd love to be answered. Is Animal Crossing Wii still happening. I'm sure they've waited for E3 2007 to show it off.
Will Mario ever get older?
Bombtom - I'm sorry to say but I would rather venture the Galaxy and Bowser, rather than run away from Nurses in a hospital.. :-D
Bojangles - Mario will not get older for he is Mario......only Luigi will grow old.
Wiiporter - We put anti growth pills and metamucil in the mushrooms.
Bentendo - I really tried to think of something funny to say here, but I couldn't....
Wiiporter - You might wanna eat this...
Will Microsoft one day own Nintendo?
Bombtom - I believe there could be a chance. Already Microsoft owns Rareware and have taken 2 major characters of Nintendo: Banjo (who they have completely ruined) and Conker.
Bentendo - About a year ago I would have thought "maybe", though with the recent success of the Wii, I doubt it would ever happen.
Wiiporter - No. EA, maybe, but Microsoft? What would they do with Nintendo? They flippin' hate us! They don't even copy Nintendo's ideas!
Bombtom - They dont' copy SEGA's ideas and they bought half of there company. So they earn money from all the Microsoft programs on Windows, half of Segas money, Xbox 360's money and they have bloody Steve Bracks on their side earning milions of dollars a minute.
Why is Peanut Butter sooo delicious?
Wiiporter - To distract us from the true purpose of nuts. Goo Goo G'Joob!
Bentendo - The only purpose for peanut butter is because it tastes great with Jelly.
The Mushrumors

You know, that group of people who hear things in thier heads.
This article is to tell you about the various rumors that are surfacing. Here I (being Bojanles) reveal if they are truth or false.
Games to Come?
Bojangles - I have many sources so listen to my amass wisdom.
Metroid Movie
Rumors have come to my attention about a Metroid movie. This movie will supposedly follow the events of the Metroid Prime series. I bet you all are wondering "who shall play the almighty Samus Aran" and infact I have that answer. It is planned that Kristanna Loken will play her in all her bounty hunter good-ness. - Bojangles
Nintendo moving?
According to the popular gaming magazine Game Informer, Nintendo of America plans to move their headquarters from Redmond, Washington, to either San Franciso or New York City. - Bentendo
Blockbuster to rent DS games?
Rumor has it that Blockbuster will soon allow it's members to rent Nintendo DS video games. To bad, seeing as I use Hollywood Video... - Bentendo
Kirby Copy Ability
The Kirby Copy Ability of the month is....
Sword Kirby! This copy ability will give our eight inch protagonist a nifty sword and some cloths that obviously bring Link to mind.
Nintendo Nastalgia
By: Bojangles
Remember back when you used to cry because 16-bit graphics were beautiful?
Zelda: A Link to The Past
Bojangles - One of the greatest Zelda games of all time and the game that I just happen to remember today. Hey, what did you guys think about this game
Bentendo - Well, I know Wiiporter liked this game, because in the last issue he favored this game over the near perfect 3-D games such as The Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time. While I may not agree with his ignorance, I do have to say that it's a very fun game with secrets galore, which is always a highlight of the 2-D birds eye view Zelda games. Awww... I just love talking about old games!
Bojangles - The game was revoloutionary when it came out. With state of the art 2d- 3d graphics, a whole new arsenal of weapons and items, a great storyline, and one hell of an adventure. It was probably the best Zelda' ever.
Bombtom - Hmm.. Yeah, I miss it too much. One of the best Zelda portable games to come out (apart from Minish Cap and PHANTOM HOURGLASS when it is released). And certainly a very good 2d game.
Wiiporter - Ignorance? Good sir, I darasay you've insulted me. While I agree that the 3D Zelda games are excellent, they never feature some of the best things that were contained in this masterpeice. For example, where's the hidden weapons? Almost all the weapons in the 3D games are not out of place. You can easily find them. Where's the alternate reality? Don't give me that 'Twilight Realm' BS: It's gotta be permanent. And most important of all, where's the cucco's fight gone? If you attacked them in LttP, they'd skrew you up, but in Twilight Princess they give you absolute control??! Ignorance my butt.
Bombtom - Lets not start a fight. It's one of the best Zelda games ever.
Nint3ndo - After I've said this you might want to lock me in a room with tingle for the rest of my life but I never thought mutch of the 2D games I always found them slightly dull and repetitive, I mean its like comparing Crazy Frog Racer to Mario Kart DS.
Super Smash Bros.
Wiiporter - This is without a doubt the best mash-up in Nintendo's long, long history. I mean, this is Captain N: the Game(Contains no Captain N). Who wouldn't want all that!
Bombtom - The best fighting game ever, beats Tekkin, Soul Calibur and oh the list goes on. It may not beat it's sequels overall but this game has some kind of unknown charm. The main reason why this is so good, is how the playable characters are all so different.
New Release Dates
Recently Nintendo released a huge release date list for summer. The following are some of the more notable release dates.
Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree - After the enourmous success of the Nintendo DS original, it would be expected that a Wii version would come out. Rather than being a brand new game, though, they added many of the previous mini-games that can be found in the DS' version. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to you. However, new puzzles and problems have been revealed, which should give you another reason to buy it.
The Soul Calibur series to this day remains as one of the greatest fighting games of all time, and it was only a matter of time until the company would create a game that doesn't focus just on fighting. And what better genre to cover than a third person action adventure? Yes, that's right, the next Soul Calibur game (which happens to be exclusive to the Wii), is the first action adventure game, that will thankfully still focus heavily on combat as the previous entries did. With this new genre, the developers have the ability to add in huge freakin bosses, like the one below:
The Simpsons video game was announced a while back, though literally nothing was known about it. It was generally thought that it would be based off of the movie, though with the recent news that EA released, it's now known that it's not! Yes, that's right, it's an origianl game that has an original script, almost an hour of cinematics, and around 8,000 lines of dialog from the actual The Simpsons cast. Apparently, the story of the game revolved around the Simpsons cast geting sucked into a video game.
