NHL Blades of Steel is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the Game Boy Color. It is licensed by the National Hockey League and its Player's Association. It was also the first hockey game to appear on the Game Boy Color.

Gameplay[]

The game was only released in North America and exclusively for the Game Boy Color.

The game's modes include Practice, Exhibition, NHL Season, and Playoffs. The player has the ability to save and load a game.

As in the real-world sport of hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.

Box Art[]

The box art for the game is a still shot of former player Jaromir Jagr of the Pittsburgh Penguins who was the League's Most Valuable Player and top scorer from the previous season.
