NHL 2004 is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the GameCube. It is licensed by the National Hockey League and its Player's Association.

The game supports up to 4 players simultaneously and uses 77 blocks on the GameCube Memory Card.

Full length seasons can be played. The old Franchise mode in previous games was upgraded to Dynasty mode, allowing players to play up to 20 seasons, building a dynasty team. International teams from three different European elite leagues were added to the game as well.

As in the real-world sport of hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.

All 30 NHL teams from that year appear in the game, along with 39 different European elite league teams.
