NBA Jam is an arcade game that was released for several systems including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy. (A GameCube version was in production called NBA Jam 2004, but was later cancelled.)
NBA Jam provided an innovative amount of features including special powers such as "on fire" dunks and "super powered" alley-oops. The commentary was also revolutionary, bringing such quotes as "He's on fire!".
The game was such a success that it spawned an entire series on further consoles including the N64, which featured NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC. NBA Jam has since been remade for modern systems.
