Mini Kirby

Mini Kirby is one of Kirby's copy ability forms. So far, it has only appeared in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. It lets Kirby shrink in size to fit into places he otherwise couldn't. This copy ability can be obtained from small enemies, such as Minny.

Abilities

Mini is a transformation-type Copy Ability. As Mini Kirby, Kirby is shrunk down to a much smaller size. In this form, Kirby's combat ability is greatly reduced, losing his ability to inhale, float and slide. The benefit of this ability is to go into small cracks and tunnels, which gives access to secret treasure chests.

Trivia

• In Kirby's Adventure, unused sprites for a smaller Kirby can be found suggesting that there was plans for a copy ability where Kirby shrinks. Masahiro Sakurai confirmed this in 1993 interview.
• Mini Kirby is functionally similar to Mini Mario from the New Super Mario Bros. games in that both shrink their protagonists and let them fit into small places. However, Kirby's ability actually predates Mario's by two years; first appearing in 2004's Kirby & the Amazing Mirror while New Super Mario Bros. came out in 2006.
