Mikoto was Sumeragi's second wife and ruled Hoshido alongside him, but their relationship sadly didn't last long due to Garon's evil doings. So she then creates a special type of barrier which causes any Nohrian enemy to lose all motivation in fighting, but this vanished after she died to Sumeragi's attack, allowing Nohr to invade Hoshido.
Mikoto is a good-natured and elegant Queen who cares deeply for her people, like Azura who she treats as her child, and believes in resolving issues without need for violence. She was also heart-broken by the fact that the Avatar was kidnapped as a young child, and secluded herself because of it, but soon reunites with them.
