Midway Games was an American video game developer and publisher. It published the Cruis'n and Killer Instinct games.
History
Association with Nintendo
WMS entered a deal with Nintendo in 1994 that allowed Midway to develop arcade games using an early version of Nintendo's Ultra 64 hardware. This resulted in three Cruis'n games and two Killer Instinct games getting made. Rare owned the rights to the Killer Instinct games while Nintendo owned the rights to the Cruis'n games.
Bankruptcy
After the company filed for bankruptcy on October 2, 2009 and its assets were sold to Warner Bros., Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment created a new subsidiary known as NetherRealm Studios to replace Midway.
