Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel
Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel is a retired Channel that was launched by Nintendo on August 10, 2007 in North America and October 15, 2007 in PAL regions. It was removed from the Wii Shop Channel on December 22, 2007 for PAL and December 31, 2007 in North America. On those days the content was removed from the channel replaced with a message saying "Metroid Prime 3 preview has expired." and suggested that users delete the channel.
It was designed to promote Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Features[]
Gameplay Footage[]
In the beginning, the Channel had only two gameplay videos of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but as time went on, additional videos were added to the Channel. There were 10 gameplay movies available to watch and stream via the Internet before Nintendo retired the channel.
Concept Art[]
On the upper right-hand corner of the video selection menu, there is a flashing square. Clicking on this square minimized the menu and gives the user access to the background image. By holding the A button the Wii Remote and moving the on-screen cursor around the image, another image, this time, of Samus, is revealed. Once all of the tiles are changed, or the player hits "Reveal," this concept art is fully exposed. Clicking "Erase" causes the first image to appear again, but this time, changing the tiles, a second image appears, also with Samus.
Trivia[]
- This channel uses the same banner music from the full Metroid Prime 3 game.
