Metroid II: Return of Samus (JP) is a video game for the Game Boy handheld. It is the second game in the very popular Metroid video game series. The game's protagonist, Samus Aran, must once again traverse through large caves and defeat plenty of enemy aliens. This game is a lot more linear then the first game.The game was available in Virtual Console  if you was a gold member of the Club Nintendo in 2012.

Story

Samus has been hired to wipe out all remaining metroids on their home planet. Driving deeper and deeper into planet SR388 Samus finds many new evolutions of Metroids and has to gain new power ups to be able to defeat the increasingly powerful enemies. And as she finally digs deep enough Samus encounters the Queen Metroid, the mother of all Metroids. Can she defeat it and save the galaxy?

Gameplay

The game is a sequel to the frist metroid game. You have a variety of weapons to help you win. The game has added two new weapon's that are new to the series, the special laser beam and the plasma beam. You can only equip one beam at a time. Metroid 2 has a new suit enhancement called the space jump.
