Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is a video game released for the Nintendo 3DS. It is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater originally released on the Sony Playstation 2.  

Gameplay

Plot

The Story takes place in 1964, during the Cold War-era. The protagonist of Snake Eater "Naked Snake" is set on a mission in the jungles of Tselinoyarsk, in the USSR. His mission is to rescue a defecting Soviet scientist named Sokolov, who is secretly developing an advanced nuclear-equipped tank called the "Shagohod". However, The Boss defects, and Sokolov is captured by the Cobra Unit and Snake is heavily injured and thrown off a bridge by The Boss, allowing Volgin and his cohorts to escape with Sokolov.  Snake is later sent back to Russia to finish his mission, to rescue Sokolov, and stop the production of Shagohod.  

Reception and Legacy

The game was later made available on the eShop in 2014, where in Japan, launched with the associated theme. The same is true of America, while Europe got the game during the summer and the theme in late December.
