Re:Two Quick Questions... Edit

I think they left the wiki since I've only seen about 4 other admins edit since I joined.

Re:My Second Question Edit

Rocketslime 1 1 Avatar I thought about doing something like that before and I think it may be a good idea, but we don't want to look like we are advertising.

I was thinking maybe we could try becoming affiliates with other gaming wikis so that some of their editors would take notice of us, but I don't know how well that would work.

Though I think one of the reasons that we don't have any users using the forums or blogs. So there is almost no communication between users or even admins for that matter.

So I think we should try to get users for other nintendo related wikis. So if you know anyone on other wikis that might want to help you should ask them, but for now I'll just try to get this wiki spotlighted so that way people on other wikis might see our wiki on the bottom of their wiki. And I'll check with the other admins to see if we should try to become affiliates with other gaming wikis.

If you come up with any other ideas please let me know. We are looking for way to find new editors.

Rocketslime 1 1 Avatar I was thinking that maybe instead of asking notable users to edit this wiki we could ask them to be a guest writer for Nintendo Monthly, so then there wiki might have an announcement about it with a link to our wiki so then people on their wiki might start editing this wiki.

Rocketslime 1 1 Avatar Maybe what we could do is form an organization like NIWA, but for Wikia wikis.

I think maybe we could do it not just for Nintendo wikis, but maybe for all gaming wikis. I f we make a big joint organization I think it would allow for things like a support forums for people needing help, and maybe some kind of anti-vandalism pact which should help stop users from an "opposite" gaming wiki from vandalizing wikis.

I'll try looking into something like that, and confer with the admins of some gaming wikis about it.

Rocketslime 1 1 Avatar I didn't end up doing much with it because it didn't get much responses. I think that to work better it would need some more features, but I'm not sure exactly what kind of features.

Re:Stubs Edit

Rocketslime 1 1 Avatar I think that the main thing with that is that is not professionalism of edits, but time spent editing and knowledge of the subject. Since many pages are created in a simple format and overtime information is added.

I think the best way to go about improving the situation would be to add a new incentive for good quality edits. Maybe, like some type of rpg-like system where each user gets an id card where they can get items, stats, and levels for doing good edits.

What do you think?

Rocketslime 1 1 Avatar Yep, I plan on making a page like that along with a feature of the rpg which rewards large good edits with special items, however I have yet to gt around to doing that yet. The rpg game is coming along well, most of the battle coding, etc. is finished, and I will soon be moving it to the beta stage where some users can test it out so I can iron out the details of it.
