May is a female Pokémon Trainer and the rival of Brendan in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and Pokémon Emerald.
In the anime
During the anime, Ash asks May to travel with him to the next City as she doesn't want to go alone. There is also a bike involved as with Misty in the first series. They later meet up with Brock and even Misty for an episode or two.
