Masamichi Abe is a Senior Manager at Nintendo Software Technology.
History
Abe started his work in the video game industry at around 1994 in Namco, where he worked on the Tekken franchise. In August 1997, he moved Nintendo EAD, with his first project with the company being 1080° Snowboarding along Mitsuhiro Takano. Afterwards, he worked on both Pikmin and Pikmin 2 along Shigefumi Hino; in those titles, Abe was in charge of designing the game mechanics and directing the dungeon layouts.
After his work on Pikmin 2, Abe left Japan and moved to Nintendo Software Technology in Seattle, Washington, where he worked on games like Metroid Prime: Hunters and many Mario vs. Donkey Kong titles, among other titles. In recent years he has been mostly involved in Japanese localization.
