BS Marvelous: Time Athletic is a SNES video game released exclusively on the Super Famicom's Satellaview system. It is a miniature version of Marvelous: Another Treasure Island, and was accompanied by Marvelous: Camp Arnold.

Release date[]

The first broadcast started in January 1996, nine months before the release of Marvelous: Another Treasure Island in October. There were in total four courses and they were all broadcasted for one hour a day for a week. The game was available from 5pm to 6pm

  • Course 1: January 7, 1996
  • Course 2: January 14, 1996
  • Course 3: January 21, 1996
  • Course 4: January 28, 1996

Gameplay[]

You control one of the three playable characters, Max, Jack, and Dion. The characters have different abilities and tools that they can use to traverse every corner of the map and find the nine stampers within the time limit of less than 1 hour. The purpose of the game is to collect all the nine stamps and yellow jewels that can be obtained on the field or in mini games .

BS Marvelous: Time Athletic has some differences from Marvelous: Another Treasure Island. The search is always carried out by only one person and the player character can only be changed in the tent in the field, Teamwork commands cannot be used on the command window screen, and it's impossible to game over.

Trivia[]

A remake of BS Marvelous: Time Athletic was planned for the Gamecube, but it turned into Navi Trackers instead. Some models from the once planned Time Athletic remake is still in the game's files. Navi Trackers still have the same level design as Time Athletic, despite not being a remake of that game anymore.

The game couldn't have three playable characters at the same time because the Satellaview lacked the SA-1 chip that was used in Marvelous: Another Treasure Island.
