It sports and emblem of its type on its body and has two bursts of flame emitting from the top of its head. Whenever Magmar breathes in deeply, heat waves form around its body, which makes it hard to distinguish the Pokémon. |

− | Magmar and the Pokémon [[Electabuzz]] have various similarities despite not being related in any way. In the National Pokédex, Electabuzz is number 125 while Magmar is number 126. They both have pre-forms that evolve once they reach level 30 (these pre-evolved Pokémon both debuting in the same game) and they both evolve into a more powerful Pokémon by trading with a special item (with both final form Pokémon first appearing in the same game). They're both slightly humanoid with a tail and feet with two talons. Electabuzz has emblems of his type (electricity) across his body while the same is the case with Magmar (fire). |
