M, real name Mio, is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is a member of Moebius.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3[]

M was the original version of Mio, who fought against Moebius. After she and Noah repeatedly failed to defeat Moebius, they abandoned the war and had a son. Mio died afterwards from natural causes, and Noah later followed. Following this, Noah was shown that in each of their lives he and Mio would meet, fall in love, join the Lost Numbers and die. Z, the leader of Moebius, offered to make him and Mio into Consuls, an offer he accepted. Subsequently, he killed many of the Lost Numbers and destroyed the first City as a means of getting the Embers to resurrect Mio as Consul M. Although N loves M, he is unaware that she is miserable and never wished to live forever.

M is encountered alongside N when the Ouroburos try to escape Li Garte Prison Camp, part of Agnus Castle. During the battle M demonstrates her ability to control individual party members and turn them against each other. After a battle N has the Ouroburos imprisoned, with Mio separated, intending to make them watch Mio's homecoming. Although the Ouroburos try, they are unable to escape their cell. The day comes, and Noah is forced to watch as Mio is sent off. After this, N attempts to execute Noah.

Noah learns the story of how the original Noah and Mio became N and M. Afterwards, it is revealed that before the previous battle, M had swapped places with Mio, and M had been the one sent off. The revelation greatly angers N, who lashes out at Noah for his version of Mio choosing to stay with him.

After the defeat of Z, the spirits of M and N, who was convinced to join with Noah, sacrifice themselves to destroy Z and stop his destruction of the world.

Trivia[]

  • Because M swaps places with Mio before the battle, she is one of only two Moebius who is not directly fought. The other is F, who fights the Ouroburos using Ferron Units.
  • As M swaps places with Mio before the battle, M is technically the only playable Moebius in the game.
