Luigi's Mansion 3 is the third game in the Luigi's Mansion series that is set to release on Nintendo Switch in October 2019, on the Halloween. The game is likely centered around Luigi's adventures in haunted mansions where he has to deal with all kinds of supernatural beings, similar to the first two games.

Gameplay

The gameplay will be similar to Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon with everything pertaining to Luigi and his way to hunt ghost, on top of that is added new ideas made for Luigi's Mansion 3 like Gooigi, which allows co-op play as well as allow the player to control a character with different abilities in single player. The world structure and the ghost themselves are based on Luigi's Mansion according to Kensuke Tanabe as he felt that this was one of the few thing missing from the second game.

Plot

Luigi, his Polterpup, Mario, Princess Peach and her court are invited to go on vacation in a gorgeous hotel. Their vacation plans are ruined as this is revealed to be a plot that King Boo had orchestrated to get his revenge on Luigi and capture his friends, as the green-clad hero finds the hard way when Princess Peach screams. (She and the rest have been captured and crammed into paintings.) Luigi investigates, finding that the hotel's gorgeous looks have faded. It has become spooky, and King Boo shows the paintings within whose depths Luigi's friends have been sealed within.

Now, Luigi must go through multiple floors, defeating various Ghosts to gain the Elevator Buttons that have been scattered around the Hotel, save his five hapless friends, and defeat King Boo again. Gooigi aids him directly, being able to be summoned form the new Poltergust G-00 that Luigi has. He and his gooey doppelganger can work together to solve puzzles that they cannot solve on their own. From his bunker, Professor Elvin Gadd provides hints that can be used as Luigi navigates the haunted hotels.

Eventually, Luigi saves his friends, and they all make their way up to the top of the hotel to save Princess Peach and defeat King Boo. King Boo turns the tables by summoning a giant painting and crams Mario, Professor Elvin Gadd, and the Mushroom Retainers (Toad included) into a giant painting. Luigi and King Boo square off for the final confrontation. Eventually, Luigi manages to get the upper hand by bashing King Boo's skull into the roof to damage the ghostly royal. However, King Boo AGAIN turns the tables by using his crown to supersize the painting, turning it into a Black Hole that sucks up the hotel as it grows huge. Regardless, Luigi manages to defeat King Boo and cram him inside the Poltergust G-00.

With King Boo gone, the hotel crumbles. However, Polterpup saves Luigi just before the Green Wonder breaks his skull. The Ghosts escape the container and try to destroy the jewel that was used by King Boo, but it fades away. The Ghosts regret their past actions, but Luigi and Professor Elvin Gadd (The latter, Mario, Princess Peach, and the Mushroom Retainers (Toad included) were saved earlier.) offer to rebuild the hotel for them. They agree and put construction helmets on their heads, though the Hammer eats his as the purple ghost looks at the Hammer funny.
