The Lor Starcutter is Magolor's ship that first appeared in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. In the game's opening, it crashes into Dream Land, scattering parts and energy spheres across Popstar. The ship serves as the main hub for the game, giving access to the Sub-games and challenge rooms after collecting enough Energy Spheres.

History[]

Prior to the start of the game, Magolor finds the ship. According to him, the Lor Starcutter is a Halcandran vessel that was built by an ancient race, who also built the Clockwork Stars, which seem similar to Nova. Magolor apparently found the ship buried in Dangerous Dinner and repaired. In actuality, Magolor stole the ship and used it attacked Landia. The dragon heavily damaged the ship forcing the ship to flee into a dimensional rift, which is why it is breaking apart when crashing.

The ship is then used by Magolor in the final fight in Another Dimension. As Another Dimension crumbles following Magolor's defeat and the Master Crown's destruction, the Lor Starcutter and Landia come back to rescue Kirby and company.

Appearance[]

The ship looks like a flying ship with a blue-white color scheme. It has a light-blue hull with oars rowing on the sides. Stars line the bow of the ship with a golden star at the front. It has a topsail on a single mast.  On its aft are two great wings flanking its engines. It has a high-tech look within.

When it becomes a boss, its color scheme darken with dark blue and purple colors with a main red star on the bow. The EX version in Extra Mode, the Lor changes colors again with a red-orange and black color scheme instead.

Other appearances[]

It has a subtle role in Kirby's Dream Collection. It is shown in the opening for the Challenge Stages and the ending cutscene when Magolor leaves Popstar. It can also be seen in Kirby: Planet Robobot when Galacta Knight uses his dimensional laser beam.

It is also a trophy in the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U.
