  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - Similar to its predecessor, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS features content from various third party companies. Sonic, from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series, returns as a playable fighter in addition to newcomers Mega Man, from Capcom's Mega Man series, and Pac-Man, from Bandai Namco's Pac-Man series. Third party characters such as Ryu, from Capcom's Street Fighter series, Cloud, from Square Enix's Final Fantasy series, and Bayonetta, from Sega and PlatinumGames' Bayonetta series, were added as playable fighters later via paid downloadable content. The game also featured additional content from the series listed above, in addition to other third party series not represented by a fighter. While the playable roster is the same between this game and its companion game, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the additional content varies between each version.
  • Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer - In late 2015, two villagers based on non-Nintendo properties were released. The first was a a 7/11 themed normal horse villager named Filly and second was a lazy cat villager based on the cat-like Felyne species from Capcom's Monster Hunter series. The Felyne villager shares the species' name and its appearance is based on the species' cartoonish appearance in MH Diary: Poka Poka Felyne Village.
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo - In the Welcome amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, players can summon villagers based on other franchises to their campground by scanning compatible amiibo or connecting to internet during special events. One of these is a lazy cat villager based on the cat-like Felyne species from Capcom's Monster Hunter series which you can summon by scanning an amiibo from the Monster Hunter Stories amiibo series. The villager shares the species' name and its appearance is based on the species' cartoonish appearance in MH Diary: Poka Poka Felyne Village. The outside of the Felyne's RV and home resembles the recurring Monster Hunter series monster, Rathalos, while the inside is decorated with various Monster Hunter themed items. From November 4, 2016 to January 5, 2017 and from March 2, 2018 to May 6, 2018, a 7/11 themed normal horse villager named Filly could appear at your campground if you connected to the internet at participating Japanese 7/11 locations. A similar promotion took place from February 1st to May 1st, 2017, a jock hamster villager named Holden could appear at your campground if you connected to the internet. Holden is based on Japanese supply company Fueki's mascot, Fueki-kun. Both Filly and Holden could not be asked to move into the player's town. Later in March 2021, a series of 6 Animal Crossing X Sanrio amiibo cards were released, each of them featuring villager based on a different Sanrio property. The set of cards included the peppy gorilla villager Rilla, based on the Hello Kitty franchise, the lazy bear cub Marty, based on the Pompompurin franchise, the normal sheep Étoile, based on the Little Twin Stars franchise, the peppy elephant Chai, based on the Cinnamoroll franchise, the normal deer Chelsea, based on the My Melody franchise, and the smug rabbit Toby, based on the Keroppi franchise. All of these villagers came with their own unique themed items which could be purchased with MEOW Coupons either from the villagers before they move into the players town, or from Harv anytime after first calling Felyne to your town's campground.
  • Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World - By scanning compatible amiibo, players can unlock special design patterns for Yoshi based on Nintendo and third party characters. The patterns based on third party characters include, Mega Man Yoshi, a design based on Mega Man from Capcom's Mega Man series, PAC-MAN Yoshi, a design based on Pac-Man from Bandai Namco's Pac-Man series, Sonic Yoshi, a design based on Sonic the Hedgehog from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series, and Ryu Yoshi, a design based on Ryu from Capcom's Street Fighter series.

  • Super Mario Maker - In the Super Mario Bros. game theme, a power-up called the Mystery Mushroom can be placed by the player. When touched by Mario, he'll transform into a costume based on various Nintendo and third party properties. These costumes can be acquired by either scanning a corresponding amiibo or completing in game challenges. The costumes based on third party properties include Mega Man, based on his sprite from the NES Mega Man games, Sonic, based on his sprite from Sonic the Hedgehog, PAC-MAN, based on his sprite from Pac-Land, Arino KACHO, a sprite rendition of GameCenter CX host Shinya Arino, Necky, a sprite rendition of Famitsu's mascot Necky wearing part of Mario's outifit, GLA, A sprite rendition of Mercedes-Benz GLA with Mario in the driver's seat, Felyne, a sprite rendition of a Felyne from Capcom's Monster Hunter series, Chitoge Kirisaki, a sprite rendition of the female protagonist of the Nisekoi manga series, BABYMETAL, a sprite rendition of the band BABYMETAL, Kitty White, a sprite rendition of the Hello Kitty brand's mascot, Melody, a sprite rendition of the My Melody brand's mascot, and Shaun the Sheep, a sprite rendition of the main character from Shaun the Sheep.

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Similar to the previous three games in the series, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate features content from various third party companies. Third party characters such as Joker, from Sega and Atlus' Persona series, the Luminary, Erdrick, Solo, and Eight, from Square Enix's Dragon Quest series, Banjo and Kazooie, from Microsoft and Rare's Banjo-Kazooie series, Terry, from SNK's Fatal Fury series, Steve, Alex, a Zombie, and an Enderman, from Microsoft and Mojang's Minecraft series, Sephiroth, from Square Enix's Final Fantasy series, Kazuya, from Bandai Namco's Tekken series, and Sora, from Square Enix and Walt Disney's Kingdom Hearts series, were added as playable fighters later via paid downloadable content. The game also featured additional content from the series listed above, in addition to other third party series not represented by a fighter.
