Lekain is a minor non-playable character in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and the one of the main antagonists in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. A high-ranking Begnion senator and the Duke of Gaddos, he is the leader of the more corrupt circles of the Begnion Senate, and attempts to overthrow Begnion's empress, Sanaki. His own personal army was formerly led by General Levail, who eventually left his post to join with General Zelgius.
Serving as Vice-Minister of the Begnion Empire, he was once engaged to the young lady Astrid of House Damiel. This was the latter’s primary reason for eventually casting away her heritage and fleeing Begnion entirely. Overseeing the assassination of Apostle Misaha, he took advantage of the confusion and framed the Kingdom of Serenes, inducing the Serenes Massacre and inflaming beorc-laguz relations for years to come.
After Daein was liberated, he could no longer conceal the existence of the anti-Apostle faction for long. Adapting to the changing situation, he had Apostle Sanaki and her loyal Prime Minister Sephiran imprisoned, and seized power of Begnion for himself. At the same time, he tricked Pelleas into signing a Blood Pact, reducing Daein to a mere puppet state. With it, Lekain was able to send Daein into hopeless battles as part of his schemes.
He briefly appears as a boss in Chapter 4-3: Distortions in Radiant Dawn. After a few turns, he warps away automatically, leaving Numida to die. If you are able to reach him before he warps away and are able to defeat him, he still retreats. He later appears as one of the two bosses, along with Hetzel, in the Endgame Part I, where he admits to planning to kill Sanaki and frame that on the herons as well. He is killed by Yune's party, and with it, the blood pacts of Daein and Kilvas are nullified.
