The Leaf Cup is a cup that appears in the games Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, and Mario Kart 8. The cup's emblem is a Super Leaf; since Mario Kart 7, the item's redesign from Super Mario 3D Land is used. In the Leaf Cup, the player competes certain race courses from the previous Mario Kart games. The Leaf Cup usually contains tracks from the Flower Cup and Star Cup, with some occasional Special Cup tracks, though Mario Kart DS featured a sole track from Mario Kart: Super Circuits Lightning Cup and Mario Kart 7 featured a sole Mushroom Cup course. The Leaf Cup is slightly more difficult when compared to the Banana Cup. Just like the Star Cup, the tracks are usually as long as the ones in the Flower Cup and the Banana Cup. However, its difficulty is on par with the Star Cup.

Trading Card info[]

"The Leaf Cup takes us back to some tracks that are definitely fan favorites. Go retro while you find shortcuts at DS Desert Hills, avoid the giant Thwomps at GBA Bowser Castle 3, blast over the river at N64 DK's Jungle Parkway, and fake out the Chain Chomp at GCN Mario Circuit."

Trivia[]

  • This is the only Retro Cup to always have a course from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.
  • The Leaf Cup trophy in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has a backwards silhouette of Tanooki Mario's artwork from Super Mario 3D Land behind it, with the tail molded to stick out from behind.
