Kyle Hyde is the main character of the Nintendo DS video game Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and its 2010 sequel Last Window: The Secret of Cape West.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215

He is an ex-NYC cop. In the year 1976, Hyde discovered that his longtime partner and friend, Brian Bradley, betrayed the police and sold police secrets to a crime ring known as Nile. Hyde tracked down Bradley and shot him. Bradley tumbled into the Hudson, but his body was never recovered. He hung up his badge soon afterwards to find Bradley. Hyde is now working for Red Crown Sales but is secretly looking for Bradley. He takes jobs from the company's owner, Ed, to find things that don't want to be found. This little gig leads him to the Hotel Dusk and this is how his story starts.

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West

Kyle returns in the Hotel Dusk: Room 215 sequel Last Window: The Secret Of Cape West. In this game Kyle receives a letter telling him to find the "Scarlet Star". The game is set in the Cape West Apartments in 1980. The letter he recieves to find the Scarlet Star, the mysterious closing down of the Cape West Apartments and his father's death (which happened when he was nine), all these past and future events are related. As in the previous game, you must help Kyle work it out.

Super Smash Bros. series

He appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a trophy. His trophy is the only one that is animated (the animation rotates in a similar fashion to how it does in Hotel Dusk: Room 215). The following is Hyde's trophy description in the game:

"A former detective working as a salesman for Red Crown, a door-to- door sales company. Kyle also searches for any trace of his long- lost friend and colleague, Bradley. Although cool and suave, Kyle tends to let himself go in the midst of his obsessive behavior. The Red Crown president's secretary, Rachel, often gives him grief about his destructive habits."
