Konami Corporation is a Japanese video game developer and publisher. They own many classic game franchises such like Metal Gear and Castlevania.
Konami established the subsidiary Ultra Games in 1988 to get around Nintendo's restrictions to the amount of NES games a single publisher could release. With the SNES, Nintendo relaxed their restrictions so, Konami stopped the label in 1992.
In 2012, the company absorbed Hudson Soft assets and now publishes their library.
In 2015, Konami rollbacked its development following the dissolution of Kojima Productions. Most of their gaming resources went to mobile games. However, with the success of Super Bomberman R, Konami has decided to revive their classic franchises on console
