King Kaliente is the second boss found in Super Mario Galaxy in the galaxy Good Egg Galaxy. He attacks by shooting fire balls at Mario. He is inside a lake of lava on one of the planets. He shoots muscle sprout-like balls at Mario that must be reflected. After two hits his crown falls of and he gets stronger. Then he needs to be hit three more times and if Mario is able to defeat him, he will obtain a Grand Star. He is seen again in Bowser Jr.'s Lava Reactor where he is now colored gray and is stronger the whole battle. He must be hit several more times. This time, Mario is rewarded with a Grand Star. He is so far only in Super Mario Galaxy. He may be a reference to some kind of Giant Blooper. His name, Kaliente, means hot, or spicy, in Spanish.
