Joran is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He is a friend of Noah, Lanz, and Eunie who was killed in an Agnian raid at the beginning of the game.
History[]

Joran was a friend of Noah, Eunie, and Lanz at Colony 14 who was kind but unfit for battle. During an Agnian raid Lanz was nearly killed, but Joran sacrificed himself instead. Following his death, Z made Joran a consul, taking the name J.
Consul J
J first appears interlinked with D, although his appearance is not revealed until later. He later by himself at Colony Lambda, where he uses his power to make mudpuppets, clones of soldiers with implanted memories. He creates a mudpuppet of Isurd using his past anger at Taion over Nimue's death.
D and J reappear at Keves Castle, where they try to stop Ouroburos from destroying the Annihilator but fail. They last appear at the Cloudkeep where D tries to kill Agnian Queen Nia. At the Ouroburos's encouragement Joran begins to renounce Moebius, but D forces him into an Interlink. After another battle Joran forces the Interlink to stay active while absorbing more power. He throws the both of them off the Cloudkeep, killing both him and D.
In a post-credits scene Joran is seen with a reborn Lanz and Eunie, telling Noah to come with them to see the fireworks.
