Jeralt Eisner, commonly known as the Blade Breaker, is a male character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He is the father of Byleth and husband of Sitri, as well as the former captain of the Knights of Seiros, a knight order that works for Rhea and the Church of Seiros.

History

Jeralt was originally a soldier from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, though barely anything is known about his life there. Over three-hundred years before the main story, Jeralt was hired as an escort for Rhea, where he took a mortal blow for her. To save his life, Rhea shared with him her blood that contained the Crest of Seiros. She then took him back to Garreg Mach Monastery, where she appointed him as a member of the Knights of Seiros. He rose quickly in the ranks and became the captain. He is often revered as one of the strongest knights in history, being known as the Blade Breaker.

Jeralt eventually met and married a nun named Sitri, who gives birth to his child Byleth on the 20th of the Horsebow Moon, though passes away shortly after Byleth is born. Devastated, Jeralt begins to notice strange behavior from Rhea and his trust in her begins to fade. After noticing that Byleth never laughs or cries, he asks a doctor to investigate secretly, where he learns that while Byleth is healthy, they had no heartbeat. When a blaze begins at Garreg Mach, Jeralt uses the fire to fake his child's death and flees to begin his own mercenary company.

At some point during his mercenary days, Leonie becomes Jeralt's apprentice.
