Iguana Entertainment is former Texas-based studio that was was founded in 1991 by Jeff Spangenberg. It's initial success was found with the Aero the Acro-Bat platformers. Iguana was acquired by Acclaim in January 1995 and combined with Sculptured Software. The studio was rebranded as Acclaim Studios Austin in 1999. The studio shutdown alongside Acclaim in 2004 due to its parent's bankruptcy. Several of the developers who worked at Iguana went on to found Retro Studios
