Ice Climber-e is an e-Reader game released in 2002. The game is a port of the Nintendo Entertainment System video game Ice Climber and was part of the second batch of classic NES ports for the e-Reader. The player could play the game by scanning five cards, each one with two barcodes excluding the fifth one, which only had one. When the game was first released, it cost a suggested retail price of $4.99, though as the e-Reader lost momentum the price dropped in many stores.

HOW TO PLAY Eight levels of treacherous ice lie between you and each summit.

Mountain baddies like Nitpickers and Polar Bears aim to keep you grounded!

Break holes in the floor above and jump up to the next level. Or use careful timing to hitch a ride on a moving cloud.

You can attempt any of the 32 mountains, but the larger the number, the harder the climb. The current score is calculated after each mountain climb.

BONUS ROUNDS After the 8th floor, the screen is cleared and you go into the bonus round. The condor hid a vegetable at the beginning of the game. Get it for additional points!

The bonus round ends when: 1) the player falls off the screen, 2) the player jumps up and grabs the condor, or 3) the timer runs out.

Getting even one ear of corn in the bonus round adds an extra life!

Card 4 of 5/codes 7-8

ENEMIES Topi brings ice to fill in holes in the floors. Collide with it and lose a life! Use your ice hammer to take it out of action.

Bump into a nitpicker will cost you a life! Eliminate this bird with the ice hammer.

The polar bear appears just in time to push the floors down. You'll lose a life if you disappear from the screen.

For extra points, grab the Condor during the bonus round!

Card 5 of 5/code 9-10

TIPS Holes can be made more quickly where the row of ice blocks is thin.

The floor and clouds have various characteristics. Some floors will break, others won't, and some move like conveyor belts.

On each floor, Popo can walk off the right edge of the screen and reappear on the left and vice versa.
