Hot Topic: Diddy Kong Racing, also titled Diddy Kong Racing: A Wild Racing Adventure!, is the fifth of the promotional videotapes put out by Nintendo, sent out to Nintendo Power subscribers and also made available for rental at Blockbuster Video stores to promote the soon-to-be-released Diddy Kong Racing.
Continuing the comedic slant from the Star Fox 64 video, the program is presented as a news show, hosted by Trent Tillman, reporting on Diddy Kong's latest escapade. Tillman interviews various correspondents who each have something to say regarding the game, including the Adventure Mode, the different combinations of vehicles, and the use of the Rumble Pak.
Similar to the previous two tapes, the video ends with a "sizzle reel" of other Nintendo 64 games available at the time (some of which would soon be receiving Player's Choice re-releases):
