Homing Attack SSB4

Homing Attack is one of Sonic the Hedgehog's main moves since Sonic Adventure. It mostly appears just in the 3D entries and it is Sonic's neutral special in the Super Smash Bros. series. Sonic curls up into a ball in midair and then locks on to the nearest enemy.

Sonic series[]

The move was introduced in Sonic Adventure and has become a staple move in Sonic's arsenal since then. It is typically the main method of dealing with enemies and solving puzzles.

Super Smash Bros. series[]

Sonic jumps up and curls up into a ball, hovering momentarily upwards and then shoot towards the closest opponent. If there are no target in range, Sonic fires diagonally downward. The move can be chained in the air an unlimited amount of times. The attack targets specifically, the opponent's side away from Sonic by traveling over and then down. The Homing Attack can potentially be used to indefinitely stall by shooting into the underside of the stage.

Customization[]

The move has two alternate custom moves as of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. They are

  • Stomp - Sonic slams straight down instead with a meteor smash.
  • Surprise Attack - A quicker version with less range and power than normal. If the move doesn't lock on, it rises a bit
