Hitmonchan (JP) is a species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. It is a Fighting-type Pokémon that made its first appearance in the first generation games Red and Blue. It evolves from Tyrogue starting at level 20 when its defense is higher than its attack.

Based on its Japanese name and boxer aspects, Hitmonchan may represent the boxer Hiroyuki Ebihara.
Hitmonchan is named after Jackie Chan and may additionally involve a combination of hit and monster. Ebiwalar may be derived from the Japanese world champion boxer Hiroyuki Ebihara.
