Hikari (女の子(ひかり)) is the female protagonist in the Famicom Disk System video game Shin Onigashima. She and Donbe were the main characters that set out on an adventure that would reveal their origins. She also appeared in the Super Famicom remake of the game, Heisei Shin Onigashima, but this time the main characters were the three animals that accompanied them on their journey, and she and Donbe only had a supporting role.

Shin Onigashima

In Shin Onigashima, Hikari was born in a glittering bamboo tree and was found by an old man when he was walking through the bamboo woods. The same day his wife found Donbe in a rice bowl that was floating down a river and the couple adopted the two children. In a dream of theirs it was revealed to them that the two children would one day come to them, and thus it happened as prophecy foretold. When the children turned eight years old, a dragon appeared and turned all of the citizens into demons, though Donbe and Hikari managed to escape the dragon's wrath. They set out to save the world, and would along the way learn their origins.
