Hey You, Pikachu! is a Nintendo 64 video game released by Nintendo in 1998 in Japan and 2000 in North America. It was developed by Ambrella.

This game is a pet simulation game published by Nintendo starring Pikachu. The game's unique selling-point is the ability to speak to Pikachu using the Voice Recognition Unit accessory for the Nintendo 64. Completing objectives mainly consists of the player helping Pikachu to complete certain tasks such as looking for food ingredients and helping Pikachu hit a piñata. There is also a shop system in the game, used to buy new items.

  • It was believed that saying "PlayStation" or "Sony" to the Voice Recognition Unit would cause Pikachu to get angry. This has been disproved however, since there is no indication in the data files of these words being registered to be recognized by the game. This urban legend likely stemmed from the inaccuracies of the speech recognition causing Pikachu to react to these words.[1]
