The Helirin is a long helicopter-like machine seen in the Kururin series. It is a specialized craft for the protagonist Kururin to use to find his missing family. It works by spinning the rotor blades quickly counter-clockwise.
The Helirin is first seen in Kuru Kuru Kururin, a Game Boy Advance game released in Europe and Japan. It is also seen in the two following games, Kururin Paradise (also for the GBA) and Kururin Squash! (for the Nintendo GameCube) The latter two were released in Japan only.
Super Smash Bros. series[]
The Helirin was first seen out the Kururin universe in Super Smash Bros. Melee where it was a trophy. It was mistranslated and was referred to as Heririn. Additionally, it states that Kuru Kuru Kururin was released in Japan only when it was also released in Europe. The model inaccurately depicts the Helirin's wings with a medium blue color, even though both of the Kururin games at the time gave the wings a bright sky-blue color.
The Helirin was seen again in Super Smash Bros. Brawl this time as an Assist Trophy which flies onto the stage and slowly rotates, creating an extra platform. In this game it was correctly spelled and correctly states that Kuru Kuru Kururin was released in Japan and Europe only.
Trophy descriptions[]
Super Smash Bros. Melee

Kururin sets off in his specialized helicopter to rescue his siblings, who have lost their way somewhere among ten worlds. The helicopter is fitted with an enormous blade, which propels the machine forward by slowly rotating. The mazes that Kururin must navigate are narrow and filled with all kinds of strange obstacles.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

A unique helicopter that flies with long, slowly rotating wings. If the wings strike walls or obstacles, the Helirin takes damage and loses hearts. The wings normally spin clockwise, but the rotation can be reversed by touching springs. There are many areas that require this technique. The Helirin can be customized by picking up and using a variety of items.
