Hebereke's Popoon is a 1993 puzzle video game developed and published by Sunsoft. It is the second instalment in the Hebereke series, after Ufouria: The Saga and before Sugoi Hebereke, although in Europe the third instalment to be released in this region was Hebereke's Popoitto. It is based off on Puyo Puyo series, but with Hebereke characters. It is the first instalment in the series to be released for the Super Famicom and Super Nintendo Entertainment System, since its first instalment in the series was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the first instalment in the series to be in the puzzle genre.
In Europe, this video game was released in 1994 and it is the first video game released in Europe to keep the Japanese character designs. Later, several video games such as Super Puyo Puyo 2 and Kirby's Avalanche were released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the latter of which was the first to be released in North America and also in the Kirby series, both based off on the Puyo Puyo series.
It is the earliest video game in the series not to be released in neither Virtual Console nor Nintendo Switch Online yet.
Gameplay[]
In this puzzle video game, it is clone of Puyo Puyo series, except that any of the two middle rows fill to top will result in a game over and instead they will require three blobs to be placed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally or two blobs horizontally or vertically with one being the blob and the another being the head color of the garbage blob for the blobs to explode. They can perform chain reactions like in previous video games. Unlike Puyo Puyo, its sequel, and its spin-off, the attacks planned not be upwards their board. A garbage blob will be put down in a different column randomly with Attack Level 1, many regular blobs with Attack Level 2, and will perform special moves at Attack Levels 3 and 4, and Level 4 attacks will be more powerful than the previous.
