Hassel is a member of Paldea's Elite Four in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and the last fight of the Champion Assessment before facing the Top Champion Geeta. He is a Dragon-type specialist. He is also the art teacher at Naranja/Uva Academy. Poppy refers to him as "grandpa," but it is unknown if they are related.
